The Busiest week of the year

BXM Expeditions runs in excess of 300 expeditions a year. Providing tents, gas stoves and maps to participants all over the country in some of the most beautiful parts of the UK. All of this equipment is stored at our warehouse in the south west and shipped out to instructors across the country.

During one week in May the warehouse is almost empty with us reaching near capacity and if it rains our logistics team back at HQ need to get it all dry and ready to head back out.

The tents are returned through instructor drop offs and kit collections at various locations. Its then the job of the team to inspect and dry them. In our warehouse the tents are hung over huge washing lines and giant gas heaters are used to warm up the space and get them dry. Over the noise of the heaters you’ll find the team listening to their favourite soul and funk records keeping them going through the mammoth task.

Poles and pegs are checked and the tents are then neatly rolled up and put pack onto the racking. Breakages are fixed and the tents are then ready to be sent back out on their next assignment.

Inevitably like anything tents will reach the end of their life (R.I.P). These tents are recycled responsibly or donated to charities that can use them for their operations.
